The Stocklmeir PTA funds and schedules Educational Assemblies throughout the school year. Our Assemblies and Adult Education Coordinator works with the school staff to plan a diverse program that is appealing for both primary and intermediate grades.
2019/20 Assembly Schedule
Rockets & Robots
When: Monday, January 14th - Grades TK - 2
Three shows are scheduled:
- Session 1: 8:45 a.m. - 9:05 a.m.
- Session 2: 9:25 a.m. - 9:55 a.m.
- Session 3: 10:25 a.m. - 10:55 a.m.
This show is brought by Rockets and Robots. With the use of models and student involved demonstrations, Captain Rob gives children a front row seat to space exploration and robotics. When: Wednesday, March 25th: Grades 3 - 5
Two shows are scheduled:
- Session 1: 9:15 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
- Session 2 -10:45 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
This animal assembly is brought by the Bureau of Lectures. This award winning, educational, and highly entertaining show will allow your students and staff to meet some of the world’s most exciting and fascinating rainforest animals. Wonders of the rainforest will showcase live animals and artifacts from the rainforests around the world, as well as cover their survival, natural history, geography, natural behaviors, and conservation education. The show promotes awareness and enthusiasm for wildlife conservation education on the local, national, and global scale.
Each presentation will feature live animal ambassadors from around the world. The show will consist of at least 5-6 rainforest animals that your students will have a chance to get up close and personal with, including: Macaw, Hornbill; Iguana; Various snakes; Honey Bear; Rainforest anthropoids; Rainforest reptile; Rainforest amphibians; Brazilian Badger
When: Tuesday, April 28th for grades 3 - 5.

This science assembly is brought by the Bureau of Lectures. Light up the skies your school with the most exciting science show you’ll ever see!
Drones take STEM to the next level, literally! Cutting edge computer technology makes self-flying vehicles possible, and what they can do is simply amazing. Start with basic physics ideas, add in programming concepts, a bit of math, and create a drone ballet in the air. This program is more than just a drone show, it’s a STEM/STEAM show! Interactive inquiry-driven science and engineering will excite volunteers, and your whole audience!
Concepts likely to be explored:
- Newton’s laws – Propulsion, equal and opposite reactions, energy
- Torque – Spin at the right times, not the wrong ones
- Fluids – How does air hold stuff up?
- Automation – Powerful lightweight computers make drones possible
- Feedback – Drones rely on fast sensors to react quickly
- Programming – Instruct drones do simple, and amazing things, all automatically
- Math – Program drones using coordinates and formulas
San Jose Taiko
When: Tuesday, June 9th for all grades.
One show is scheduled from 9:20 a.m. - 9:50 a.m.
It’s a fun energetic musical assembly. It conducts assemblies for all grade levels to educate children and teachers about the history of taiko and its links to Japan and to the local Japanese American communities. The 30 minute school program presents SJT's basic philosophical principles and engages the students to actively participate in its high-action demonstration.
