Welcome Stocklmeir Families! We are excited to have you join our caring community.
Here are answers to some of our frequently asked questions. If you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact us here:
1. How do I know who my child's teacher is?
All class lists will be posted by the GLC and by the school office at 4pm on the working day before school starts.
2. Are there opportunities to meet other Stocklmeir families?
Stocklmeir PTA hosts a Kinder Ice Cream Social on day before school starts at 2:30pm in the Kinder playground. All incoming Kinders and their parents are welcome to attend.
The Panda Picnic is one of our biggest events of the year. You don’t want to miss it! This year, it will be held on Friday, September 7 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm at Stocklmeir. There will be sports and games, art projects, puppeteers, face painting, and food available for purchase from local food trucks. You can also learn more about the PTA and volunteer opportunities. We hope to see you there!
Throughout the year, Stocklmeir PTA hosts Family Nights, such as Bingo, Movie Night, International Fair, Math Festival and a S.T.E.M Fair. Bring your family to any or all of these events to meet other families and be a part of our great community!
3. What is the typical daily schedule?
Kindergarten through 3rd grade are from 8:30am - 2:35pm. 4th and 5th grade are from 8:30am - 3:05pm. Tuesdays are from 8:30am - 2:00pm for ALL grades. Schedule details are available on Stocklmeir’s main website.
4. For the first day of school, is anything different schedule-wise?
Come to school to your child's classroom 5-10 minutes prior to 8:30am. Make sure to allow enough time for parking. A few minutes before 8:30am, the teacher will open the door and welcome the children.
5. What should my child bring to school on the first day?
Besides a back pack and lunch, Stocklmeir has a list of suggested school supplies that you can find here. If you would rather make a donation to your student's classroom, you can write a check designated to that classroom and drop it off at the school office.
6. How can I get more connected with the school community?
Stocklmeir PTA hosts a Facebook page at “Stocklmeir PTA” that offers information about events, updates and other pertinent information.
Stocklmeir's main website has updated information regarding our school and the Stocklmeir PTA website has information about PTA programs and events. While you're there, make sure to become a member of the Stocklmeir PTA and sign up to receive regular e-mails and our Stocklmeir PTA newsletter. You can also download the PTA calendar to your device to not miss out on any events!
7. How can I volunteer to help at the school?
There are many opportunities to help at school:
Helping in your child's classroom: On Back to School night, your child's teacher will have a sign-up sheet where you can help out in areas such as: becoming the Room Rep, reading in the classroom, helping to fill Panda Folders, assisting at library and many more. You can also speak to your child's teacher about any other areas where they may need assistance.
Helping at lunch time in either the Kindergarten or 1st-5th grade yard: Stocklmeir is in need of parents to help at lunch duty. For more information, contact Assistant Principal Michaela Jacobsen: email@example.com
Helping in other areas around school: Stocklmeir PTA has many areas to help our school community, including Running Club, Project Cornerstone, helping with events, fundraisers, communications, and serving on the Stocklmeir PTA Board. For more information, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
8. How do I donate to support programs at Stocklmeir Elementary?
Every year, Stocklmeir PTA asks for a $275 donation per student to help keep programs such as art, music, special assemblies, technology, the school library, field day, Project Cornerstone, and community events at our school. This amount is comparable to the requested amount from other schools in our area. You can donate by check (payable to Stocklmeir PTA) in your student's classroom or the school office or by credit card online. You can also bring your donation to our annual Panda Picnic on Friday, Sept 7 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Thank you for your support!
