Reflect on the theme; Create an original work; Be Recognized

PTA Reflections is a nationally acclaimed student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home. Students of all grades and abilities may participate and explore the arts based on a given theme. Entries must be the original work of one student only. Enter as many times as you want to and Enter in as many art categories as you would like. 

    2016 - 2017 Theme - "What Is Your Story"

Submissions Due Date : October 17th, 2016 from 8am - 9am in GLC

Stocklmeir Participation Divisions : 

  • Primary: Kindergarten to Grade 2
  • Intermediate: Grade 3-5

How to Register : 

  • Fill out registration form here : This tells us how many entries to expect
  • Print and fill out Reflections Entry Form. This is mandatory with every submission. Submit this along with the Reflections art entry on the 17th.
  • Parent Consent Form

Participation Rules : 
  • All students *must* follow the rules set by California PTA's Reflections committee and bring the completed Reflections Entry form and Consent Forms with their submissions. (Note: Local PTA Information on the Entry Form will be filled in by office). Entries submitted without the forms will be disqualified from judging. 
  • Title and Artist statement in the form is required. Parents can fill in this information for those students who are unable to write it themselves.
  • No copyrighted material can be used.
  • The work *must* be the original work of the student. No adult intervention or peer collaboration should alter the artistic creation of the student. Adult intervention is accepted only towards providing procedural and technical guidance. Entries that do not follow these guidelines will be disqualified from judging.
  • Each Art Category has its list of rules listed below (set by National PTA's Reflection team) that must be followed strictly.

Tips and Tricks :

  • Consider participating in categories besides Visual Arts. That category receives the most entries and hence, chances of getting picked for next level goes down.
  • Refer to this link on what is photograph vs. visual arts :
  • Please ensure to fill out the required forms in full (especially artist title and statement). Numerous entries get dropped due to lack of this information.
  • Please allow children to expand on their creativity with minimal adult interaction/participation.
