Information for Families New to Stocklmeir

Welcome new Stocklmeir Families!  We are excited to have you join our caring community. As your family begins to navigate your way through the school, we hope to be able to answer some of your questions. Here are some of our frequently asked questions and answers to plan a smooth first day. If you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact us here:


1. Who will be my child's teacher?

Class lists go up on Thursday, August 11 at 3 pm for Kindergarten students and Friday, August 12 at 4 pm for 1st through 5th grade students.

2. Are there opportunities to meet other Stocklmeir families?

Stocklmeir PTA hosts a Kinder Social on Thursday, August 11 at 3:30pm with music, games and ice cream.

On the first day of school, after drop off, stop by the GLC at 8:30 am for Parent Coffee to meet other families and hear from the PTA.

The Panda Party is one of our biggest events of the year. You don’t want to miss it! This year, it will be held on Friday, August 26 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Stocklmeir. There will be sports and carnival games, puppeteers, face painting, balloon artists and food available for purchase from local food trucks. We hope to see you there!

3. What is the typical daily schedule?

Kindergarten through 3rd grade goes from 8:30am - 2:35pm. 4th and 5th grade goes from 8:30am - 3:05pm. Tuesdays are from 8:30am - 2:00pm for all grades. Schedule details are available on Stocklmeir’s main website.

4. For Monday, August 15, the first day of school - anything different schedule-wise?

Come to school to your child's classroom 5-10 minutes prior to 8:30am.  A few minutes before 8:30am, the teacher will open the door and welcome the children.   After drop-off, please join us the PTA for a Parent Coffee beginning at 8:30 am in the GLC.  

5. How else can I stay connected with the school community?

Stocklmeir PTA hosts a Facebook and Twitter page at “Stocklmeir PTA” that offers information about events, updates and other pertinent information.

The Stocklmeir PTA website and Stocklmeir's main website has updated information regarding our school. While you're there, make sure to become a member of the Stocklmeir PTA and sign up to receive regular e-mails and our Stocklmeir PTA newsletter. You can also download the PTA calendar to your device to not miss out on any events!

6. How can I volunteer to help at the school?

There are many opportunities to help out at school:

Helping in your child's classroom: On Back to School night, your child's teacher will have a sign-up sheet where you can help out in areas such as: becoming the Room Rep, reading in the classroom, art lessons, helping to grade papers, helping to fill Panda Folders, etc... You can also speak to your child's teacher about any other area's where they may need assistance.

Helping at lunch time in either the kinder or 1st-5th grade yard: Stocklmeir is in need of parents to help at lunch duty. For more information, contact Assistant Principal Audrey Prouse at: prouse_audrey@cusdk8.org.

Helping in other areas around school: Stocklmeir PTA has many areas to help our school community, including Running Club, Art Docent, Project Cornerstone readers, helping with events, fundraisers, communications, and serving on the Stocklmeir PTA Board.
